MANILA, Oct. 15 — World-renowned Filipino golfer Jennifer Rosales paid a courtesy call on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo this morning to formally present the trophies she had won in various golf tournaments around the world.
Among the trophies Rosales presented to the President at the Bahay Pangarap in Malacañang Park were her 2008 Women’s World Cup trophy she and fellow Filipino golf champ Dorothy Delasin had won in South Africa and another in a 2004 Ladies Professional Golf Association tournament in the United States.
Rosales owns the distinction of being the first Filipino golfer to win in the LPGA Tour when she captured the Chick-Fil-A Charity Championship in 2004.
She copped her second championship in the first tournament of the 2005 LPGA season, the SBS Open in Turtle Bay, Hawaii.
Joining Rosales during the courtesy call was her mother Lourdes and National Golf Association of the Philippines Director Pablo Soon. (PNA) scs/OPS/utb
